Why is my collar disconnected or offline?
If your Halo Collar is showing as disconnected or offline, it is usually related to a connectivity issue. This can involve Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or LTE depending on your environment.
Step 1: Check Basic Status
- Ensure the collar is powered on
-
Open the Halo app and view the Pet Card to check the connection status
Understanding Connection Types
Your collar uses different connection types depending on range:
- Bluetooth: When you are nearby (short range)
- Wi-Fi: When connected to a known network
- LTE: When your dog is away from home
Step 2: Check LTE or Wi-Fi Connection
- If LTE is unavailable, the collar may be searching for a nearby cell tower
- If indoors, connect to a Wi-Fi network if available
- If Wi-Fi is not available, LTE will be used automatically
💡 Tip: You can use your smartphone as a Wi-Fi hotspot if needed
Step 3: Check Bluetooth Connection
- Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone
- Stay within range (about 100 feet) of the collar
- Keep the Pet Card open in the app to maintain connection
What If You Don’t See Blue Icons?
If the connection icons are not showing as expected:
Check Bluetooth
- Confirm Bluetooth is turned on
- Move closer to the collar
Power Cycle the Collar
- Turn the collar off and back on
Check Your Phone’s Connection
- Ensure your phone is connected to:
- Wi-Fi (indoors), or
- Cellular data (outdoors)
Important Note
Your Halo Collar determines your dog’s location directly. Your phone simply displays that information, so connection quality may vary depending on signal strength and environment.
