What Are the Benefits of Enabling Bluetooth?
It is important to enable your phone’s Bluetooth so that you can get the most out of your Halo Collar and App.
Features That Require Bluetooth
A Bluetooth connection is required to access the following features:
- Viewing your pup’s live, real-time location on the My Map screen
- Instantly toggling Fences or Beacons on or off without waiting for synchronization
- Instantly applying Manual Feedback to your pup
- Creating fences with your collar
- Adding a new Halo Collar to your account
- Adding a Halo Beacon to My Beacons or monitoring a Beacon’s battery level
Important Note
- Only one phone can be connected to your Halo Collar via Bluetooth at a time
- Bluetooth will not work if multiple devices attempt to connect simultaneously
How to Enable Bluetooth
iOS Smartphones
- Open the Control Center and tap the Bluetooth icon so that it turns blue
- Open your device’s Settings app → Tap Bluetooth → Ensure it is toggled ON
- Always grant permission for Bluetooth and location services when prompted
Android Smartphones
- Follow the steps for enabling Bluetooth on Android devices: Connecting Bluetooth
Next, ensure the Halo App has location permissions:
- Go to Settings
- Search for Halo and open the app settings
- Find Location Permissions and ensure they are allowed, not denied
If this does not resolve the issue:
- Gather system log files for further analysis
- Follow the instructions in: How to Send System Logs and or Diagnostics Files to the Halo Support Team
For Android 12 or later:
- Location and Bluetooth permissions are separate
- Ensure both Bluetooth and precise location permissions are enabled
