How to Use My Phone as a WiFi Hotspot
If you are in an area without Wi-Fi or LTE, you can use your phone as a mobile hotspot to connect your Halo Collar to the Halo System. This allows you to:
Change your collar’s mode
Create or edit fences
Download and apply wireless firmware updates

Setting Up a Hotspot on an iPhone
Go to Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot or Settings > Personal Hotspot.
Turn on Allow Others to Join (slider should turn green).
Take note of the Wi-Fi password displayed.
For iPhone 12 or newer, toggle Maximize Compatibility to emit a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band.
Open the Halo App, tap Settings > Collars, and select your collar.
Tap the Wi-Fi menu and select your hotspot from the available networks.
Enter the password to connect your collar.
Note: If you don’t see the Personal Hotspot option, contact your carrier to ensure your plan supports it.
Setting Up a Hotspot on an Android Phone
Open the Settings app.
Tap Network & Internet, then Hotspot & Tethering.

Select Wi-Fi Hotspot.
You can toggle it on/off, change the network name, security type, and password.
Ensure the hotspot emits a 2.4 GHz band.
Open the Halo App, go to Settings > Collars, and select your collar.
Tap the Wi-Fi menu, choose your hotspot, and enter the password to connect.
Tips for Using a Mobile Hotspot

You may need two devices:
One device emits the hotspot
Another device runs the Halo App to complete Wi-Fi setup
The collar connects automatically to the hotspot; the app is only needed for the initial connection.
You can optionally connect the second device to the hotspot signal, but it is usually unnecessary.
