The collar strap serves as the base, ensuring that the collar sits comfortably on your dog's neck and keeps the Halo Collar securely in place. The method of attaching a strap to your collar will depend on the generation of the Halo Collar you have.

Halo 4

The Halo 4 is equipped with a pre-attached strap. If you decide to purchase a new strap from our Accessory Page, you will need to replace the strap. This process is quite straightforward! The brief video provided below gives a step-by-step demonstration of how to do this.

For information on how to put the assembled collar on your dog, please refer to the Fitting the Halo Collar guide. It is important to ensure that the collar fits snugly around your dog's neck. You should be able to fit two fingers between the strap and your dog's neck.

Halo 3, 2+, and older models 

When unboxing a Halo 3, 2+, or older, be sure to attach the strap to your collar. Here are the steps to do so:

1. Adjust the strap's clasp so it fits your dog's neck snugly. Two fingers should fit between the strap and your dog's neck.
2. Find the two loops on the Halo Collar with thumbscrews. Unscrew them slightly to loosen the loops.
3. Put the strap on the Halo Collar. Make sure the holes on the strap match the contact tip spots on the Collar.
4. Wrap the loops around the strap and hand-tighten the thumbscrews. Don't over-tighten or use tools!
