How to Select and Install the Contact Tips
Contact tips allow your Halo Collar to deliver Static Feedback. To ensure this feature works safely and effectively, it’s important to choose the correct tip length for your dog’s coat and install them properly.
Using the wrong tips—or installing them incorrectly—can reduce effectiveness or cause discomfort for your dog.
Determine the Correct Contact Tip Size
Based on Charging Port Type
- USB-C port: Requires 2.5 mm contact tips
- Magnetic charging: Requires 3.5 mm contact tips
Important: Only hand-tighten the contact tips. Do not use tools.
Types of Contact Tips
Your Halo Collar kit includes three types of contact tips:
Contact Blanks (4 mm)
- For sound and vibration only (no static feedback)
Short Contact Tips (9 mm)
- Best for short-haired breeds (e.g., Boxers, Beagles)
Long Contact Tips (19 mm)
- Best for long-haired breeds (e.g., Huskies, Malamutes)
To use Static Feedback, you must install either the short or long contact tips.
