Removing skunk smell from a collar can be a challenging task, but with the right approach, you can eliminate the odor effectively. Try not to completely soak the collar but instead, wipe or scrub the collar with a brush or cloth for cleaning.

1. Act quickly: The sooner you address the skunk odor, the better chance you have of removing it completely.

2. Wear protective gloves: Skunk spray contains oils that can be difficult to remove, so it's important to protect your hands while handling the collar.

3. Rinse with water: Start by thoroughly rinsing the collar with water. This will help remove any loose debris and dilute the skunk spray.

4. Pre-treat with vinegar or baking soda: Both vinegar and baking soda are known for their odor-absorbing properties. Choose one of these options and apply it directly to the collar or protection case. Rub it in gently and let it sit for about 15 minutes.

5. Wash with a pet-safe detergent: After the pre-treatment, wash the protective case or collar with a pet-safe detergent by hand. Consider adding a cup of baking soda or a quarter cup of vinegar to the wash to further combat the odor.

6. Air dry in the sun: Hang the collar outside in a well-ventilated area, preferably in direct sunlight. Sunlight can help naturally neutralize odors and kill bacteria. Make sure the collar is completely dry before using it again.
   

7. Check for residual odor: After drying, give the collar a sniff test. If there's still a lingering skunk smell, repeat the steps above or try using an enzymatic pet odor remover, which can be effective in breaking down the odor-causing molecules.

8. Use a commercial odor remover (optional): If the skunk smell persists, consider using a commercial odor remover specifically designed for pet odors. Look for a product that is safe for the material of your collar and follow the instructions provided.

Please Note: Let your collar completely dry before plugging it back into its charger.

Remember, skunk odor can be persistent, so it might take a few attempts to completely remove the smell.
