How to Test the Static Feedback Feature
If you’d like to test the Halo Collar’s static feedback on yourself, it’s important to follow the correct method to ensure you can feel the feedback properly.
Static feedback will only work when both contact tips are touching your skin at the same time. If you are only touching one tip, you will not feel anything.
Important Tips Before Testing
- Always place both contact tips firmly against your skin
- Test on a fleshy area, such as:
- Forearm
- Thigh
- Do not test on your palm, as it may be less sensitive
Understanding Static Feedback
- Static feedback is not meant to be painful or punitive
- It is designed to provide a light, attention-getting sensation
- Feedback levels should:
- Be set to the lowest level that gets your dog’s attention
- Be adjusted based on your dog’s sensitivity (skin/fat thickness)
- Proper level setting is covered in the training curriculum in the Halo App
Steps to Test Static Feedback
- Open the Halo App
- Select the Pet Card for the collar you want to test
- Tap the blue and white hand icon to access Instant Feedback
- Place both contact tips against your skin (forearm or thigh recommended)
- Trigger feedback:
- Tap the Emergency icon (if static is set as Emergency Feedback)
- You should feel the static feedback as long as both tips are touching your skin
Adjusting Static Feedback Level
- Swipe up on the Pet Card
- Tap Feedback Settings
- Select:
- Prevention
- Then Emergency Feedback (or your selected static setting)
- Adjust the level using the slider:
- Range: 1–15
- Choose the level appropriate for testing or your dog
Important Reminder
- If you change the static level for testing:
- Reset it to the correct level for your dog afterward
