Walk Feature Follow
Walks are a fantastic way to expel your dog's energy, which means less naughty behavior in the house while helping them stay happy and healthy. To use the Halo Walk feature, simply activate the Walk feature in your Halo App and your dog can cross your fence boundaries seamlessly.
How to begin walk:
- Open the Halo App, and select the walk tab in the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen
- Select which Dog(s) you want to take on your walk.
- Before "Starting a walk" make sure that your dog is in a safe position and ready to start the walk. Remember, you do not have to turn off fences as your dog will not receive boundary feedback while the walk mode is active.
While the Walk mode is active, the Halo App will track the dog's activity including distance covered, time spent walking, and speed. You may continue to issue instant feedback directly from the halo app or remote beacon during the walk.
If you are taking your dog for a drive, you may find it easier to activate 'walk mode' and end it when you return so your fence can stay on at all times. This is especially useful if you have other dogs.
When you return inside your fenced area, end your walk session by clicking "end walk" and your fences will turn back on, allowing your dog to roam off-leash securely once more.
How to get the most out of your walk:
- Ensure that you have updated to Firmware version 1.25.03 or later and Halo Collar App version 1.96 for iOS and 1.83 for Android
- Never attach a leash to your Halo Collar, but rather we recommend using a slip-lead or separate collar and leash.
- Create a consistent routine for when and how you leave the boundary. You have already trained your dog, so asking them to cross a boundary may be confusing. We recommend using a release word ("Free"/"Ok") to alert them that it's safe to cross.
- Check local leash laws if you plan on walking your dog off-leash
