How to Add or Remove a Collar or Pet in the Halo App
You can easily add, remove, or manage collars and pet profiles directly within the Halo App. Follow the steps below based on what you’re looking to do.
Note: If you attempt to add a collar while your membership is paused or canceled, the collar may not be successfully added until the membership is resumed or reactivated.
Before You Begin
Make sure the following are ready:
- Your phone’s Bluetooth is enabled
- You are connected to a strong Wi-Fi network
- You are within range of your Wi-Fi signal
- The Halo App is downloaded from the App Store or Google Play Store
Adding Your First Collar & Pet
When you first download and log in to the Halo App, you’ll be guided through onboarding to set up your collar and pet.
Steps to Add Your First Collar
- Plug in your collar to charge near a strong Wi-Fi or cellular signal (preferably near a window).
- Wait until the battery light turns solid green (fully charged).
- Press and release the Power button on the front of the collar.
- The collar will connect to the Halo App via Bluetooth.
- Follow the prompts to:
- Add your pet’s name and profile details (breed, birthday, weight, etc.)
- Connect to your home Wi-Fi network
- Allow updates and GPS initialization
- Add any Halo Beacon(s) if applicable.
Adding Another Collar
To add an additional collar to your account:
- Open the Halo App
- Tap Settings
- Select + Add New Collar
- Follow the same setup steps as above
Disconnecting or Reassigning a Collar
Disconnect a Collar from a Pet
- Tap Settings
- Select Currently linked to (Dog’s Name)
- Tap Disconnect Collar From This Pet
Reassign a Collar to Another Pet
- Tap Settings
- Select Currently linked to (Dog’s Name)
- Tap Reassign Collar to Another Pet
- Choose an existing pet or select + Add New Pet
Removing a Collar from Your Account
To permanently remove a collar:
- Tap Settings
- Select My Collars
- Tap the collar you want to remove
- Scroll down and select Delete Collar
Editing or Deleting a Pet Profile
To update or remove a pet profile:
- Go to My Map
- Tap your dog’s name
- Expand the pet card
- Select Edit Profile
From here, you can:
- Update pet details (name, color, breed, etc.)
- Tap Delete Profile at the bottom to remove the pet
