Can I Use the Halo Collar Without WIFI?
Yes, the Halo Collar will function normally without WiFi, but there are a few things to keep in mind.
Firmware Updates
The primary way the Halo Collar receives firmware updates is by being placed on the charger while connected to WiFi.
If WiFi is not available, you can still update your collar by:
Connecting the collar to your computer using the USB cable included in your Halo Kit
Downloading and installing the update through a wired connection
Please refer to the Wired Update Instructions article for step-by-step guidance.
Cellular Connectivity
As long as your collar has a cellular connection, you will still be able to:
Create and edit fences
Monitor your dog’s location
Receive updates about your dog’s activity
The Halo Collar 5, Halo Collar 4, and Halo Collar 3 are designed to work on any available cellular network.
Coverage for Earlier Halo Models
Earlier Halo models (Halo 1, Halo 2, and Halo 2+) use AT&T cellular coverage to send notifications from the collar to your phone.
If you are using one of these models, it is recommended that you:
Check AT&T coverage in your area to confirm network availability where you plan to use the collar
