Once your dog completes the training, they'll know the meaning of the Fence Feedback notifications and won't leave their Halo Fence boundary. 

In the event that a dog ignores the Feedback, our Halo Fence is not like a 'regular' fence, which doesn't offer any protection once you move beyond it. With Halo, your dog will receive Emergency Feedback when it crosses the fence boundary while moving away from the safe zone. This is not a one-off event; the dog will continue to receive Emergency Feedback if it continues to move away from the safe zone. 

As soon as your dog stops moving or turns around and starts heading back to safety, the Emergency Feedback will cease, and the collar will begin to offer Encouragement Feedback (specifically, the configurable Return Whistle) to call them back to their safe zone. 

Protection Zone

There is a Protection Zone that extends about 300 feet (91.4 meters) beyond the boundary of your Halo Fence. Your dog will continue to receive Emergency Feedback as long as it is continuing to move away from safety and still within the Protection Zone.

If the dog moves beyond the outer limit of the Protection Zone, the Halo Collar will enter 'Lost Mode'. Once in Lost Mode, the collar will no longer give your dog Emergency Feedback, so as not to confuse your dog further. Instead, it will direct your dog back to the safety of your Halo Fence using the Return Whistle. These encouraging prompts will continue until your dog is safely within the confines of your Halo Fence once again. 

Note: You can view your dog's location using the My Map feature of the App. The collar will provide location updates as long as your phone is connected to the Internet and your dog's Halo is connected to the Internet via cellular (AT&T), Wi-Fi, or has a Bluetooth connection to your phone. You will be notified via the Halo App when your dog receives its first Emergency Feedback when leaving the Halo Fence.
