How to Take and Share a Screen Recording
If you’re experiencing issues in the app, capturing a screen recording can help our Customer Support team investigate more effectively.
What to Record
If you are experiencing GPS-related issues:
- Open the Halo app
- Navigate to the My Map tab

Ensure the Pet Card is visible
While recording:
- Perform a hand-test at your fence line
- Follow the steps in the article: How to Test the Collar’s Accuracy by Hand
- Describe what you are seeing, hearing, or feeling during the test
Steps for iOS (iPhone)
Step 1: Enable Screen Recording (If Needed)
If you don’t see the screen recording option:
- Go to Settings → Control Center
- Tap the + next to Screen Recording
Step 2: Start Recording
- Open the Control Center (swipe up or down depending on your device)

Press and hold the Screen Recording button (circle icon)

- Turn the Microphone ON (icon should appear red)
- Select Photos if prompted (to save the recording)
- Tap Start Recording
Step 3: Perform the Test
- Close the Control Center and open the Halo app
- Navigate to the correct screen and begin your test
- You may switch between apps (e.g., Camera) during recording to show real-world positioning
Step 4: Stop Recording
- Re-open the Control Center
- Tap the Screen Recording button to stop
- Your recording will be saved to your Photos app
Steps for Android
For Android 11 or Later
- Use your device’s built-in screen recorder
- Ensure Media Sounds and Microphone are enabled before recording
For Android 10 or Earlier
- Download AZ Screen Recorder from the Google Play Store
- Open the app and select Record using notification
- Tap the camera icon to begin recording
- Allow access to files and microphone
- Microphone access is important so you can describe what’s happening during the test
How to Share Your Recording
Option 1: Attach to Email
- Locate the recording in your Photos app or saved files
- Open your email and reply to your existing support thread
- Click the Attach (paperclip) icon
- Select and attach the video file
- Send your email
Option 2: Share via Link (For Large Files)
If the file is too large to attach:
- Upload the recording to a file-sharing service such as:
- Generate a shareable link and include it in your email reply
Helpful Tips
- You can switch between apps while recording (e.g., Halo app → Camera)
- Showing your surroundings can help us better understand the issue
- Always keep the microphone enabled for additional context
