Will this scare my dog?
When your dog is learning where the boundary is on your property, they may initially hesitate to cross it, even when fences are off (for example, during a walk).
Over time, your dog will learn that they can safely pass the boundary when on a leash and under your supervision. To ensure this:
Turn off fences whenever you are leaving the house with your dog. This prevents your dog from receiving Prevention Feedback when crossing the boundary.
Move confidently past the normal location of your fence boundary. Dogs are very attuned to human confidence, and showing certainty helps them understand when they are allowed to cross.
Using the Ignore Fences Beacon Function
The Ignore Fences Beacon is a helpful feature that allows you to bypass fences without turning them off:
Place a beacon in your pocket and set it to Ignore Fences mode in the Halo App.
Walk through your boundary freely—the collar will not receive any feedback while within range of the beacon.
Some users place an Ignore Fences beacon in their car, allowing them to drive through a boundary while their dog is in the vehicle.

Summary
Your dog may initially be cautious around boundaries, but consistent guidance and confidence from you will help them understand when it’s safe to cross. The Ignore Fences Beacon makes it easy to move through boundaries without triggering collar feedback, ensuring a smooth and stress-free experience for both you and your dog.
