Beacon Troubleshooting Assistance Follow
- Make sure that the beacon is turned on and is in close proximity to your phone. This ensures that the signal between the beacon and your device can establish a connection.
- Ensure that the beacon is powered on before accessing the settings in your Halo app. This allows the app to detect and recognize the beacon's presence.
- After powering on the beacon, it may take up to 40 seconds for it to appear within the app. Please be patient during this short initialization period.
- If the beacon does not appear within the app, try turning off the beacon and then turning it back on. Additionally, toggle the Bluetooth functionality on your device by turning it off and then turning it back on. This can help refresh the connection between the beacon and your device.
- After performing the above steps, attempt to reconnect the beacon within the Halo app. Follow the instructions provided in the app to initiate the pairing process.
Inconsistent or No Feedback
- Make sure to turn on the beacon so that it can work effectively.
- Ensure that the beacon is set to Listen in the Pet Card
-
Ensure that your pet's collar is in motion to receive accurate feedback.
-
- Check that the collar is properly fitted for your pet's comfort. If the collar is not on your dog, make sure you are properly hand-testing.
-
- To avoid any interference, make sure your phone is not unlocked with the Halo App opened up.
- Confirm synchronization has a checkmark. It's important that your settings or changes are saved.
To adjust the beacon level settings, follow these steps:
- Go to Settings > My Beacons > Level.
- You will see a radius with a slider ranging from levels 1-15. Please note that these levels do not correspond to a specific measurement in feet; they indicate signal strength.
- If the range is too low, increase the radius by turning it up.
- If the range is too high, decrease the radius by turning it down.
Try different levels by manually testing the collar to find the best one. Keep in mind that environmental factors, such as other beacons, may affect the performance.
Consider the beacon's location:
- The beacon has a spherical radius, and the range may need adjustment depending on the number of surrounding devices.
- If the beacon is placed inside an object like a bucket, the signal strength may need to be increased.
Two important points to remember:
- Ensure that the collar is moving and bouncing as it approaches the beacon. Feedback will not be delivered if there is a pause in movement.
- Feedback will stop if the collar is turned around.
- The Halo Collar will rarely trigger in the same spot twice due to it engaging when it first picks up the Bluetooth signal from the beacon.
For feedback to reset, make sure to exit the entire beacon radius entirely before re-entering.
During training, you have the option to apply feedback manually for the exercises. Although it may require more effort, it is just as effective. If you choose to use manual feedback, follow the training instructions in the application and manually provide feedback for the beacon.
Please note that the Halo Beacons also have two different functions from which you can choose. These functions are:
Keep Away- used to keep your dog from entering unwanted or unsafe areas. Keep Away Beacons trigger alerts that act like any other boundary when your dog approaches them.
Ignore Fences- used to create a portable ‘Safe’ zone where your pup won’t receive Fence feedback while in the range - regardless of whether its pet pin is inside or outside a Halo Fence.
