The satellite picture is outdated on My Map Follow
Having accurate satellite imagery in your area is often important if you want to make sure your Halo Fence is exactly where you want it to be. If you live in a new home, or the landscape recently changed, it is possible that our satellite imagery is not up-to-date in your location.
If outdated satellite imagery in your area is preventing you from creating your Halo Fence(s) accurately, you can request a satellite imagery update by following the instructions below.
Reasons to request a satellite imagery update include:
- Your house isn't shown on the map
- Your property has been restructured significantly since the image was taken (Added a pool, an extension of your house, etc.)
- You are in any location where the satellite imagery is too outdated for you to create an accurate Halo Fence, such as a newly constructed dog park
Instructions for requesting a satellite imagery update:
- Go to the My Map screen in the Halo app
- Center the screen on the location where the update is needed - this is critical.
- If needed, use the 'blue dot' representing your phone's location as a reference
- E.g. your whole development looks like farm-land with no homes displayed: go outside your home and center the My Map screen on your current location by pressing "Find My Location on Map"
- Tap the 'Map Settings' button on the right side of the My Map screen (it looks like 3 white squares stacked on top of each other, and is directly under the 'Refresh' button).
- Tap 'Report Issue With Satellite Background'
- An email will be generated for you to submit to support with an attachment that contains the location of the update. Do not delete the attachment! If possible, submit the request using the same email address as your Halo account.
- Add the details of your request to the email body (i.e. My home is missing, my property has been restructured, etc.) before sending the email, so our Customer Support team knows what to look for
- Our team will review your case as soon as possible, and if necessary, will update the satellite imagery in your area.
