Objective

• Explain the meaning of the Logo, GPS, and Battery lights on your Halo collar

Collar(s) with firmware version 01.03.92 or later (see below for earlier firmware versions):

Halo Logo Light

The Halo Logo light is the large, paw-shaped light on the front of your Halo Collar.

Bluetooth connection status will be indicated by whether the Logo light blinks or not. 

• Сollar is connected to the Halo app via Bluetooth -> Logo light will blink in your pet's selected color every 4 seconds
• Collar is not connected to Halo app via Bluetooth -> Logo light will remain OFF
• Issue with Collar function -> Logo will blink red and white. Please reference the Halo App or contact our virtual Dog Park if you see this. 

GPS Light

The GPS light, which is the teardrop-shaped indicator located under the Power button, may indicate any of the following and will help you understand the GPS status of the collar:

• High GPS signal strength -> GPS Light behavior: Blinks Blue* 
• Medium GPS signal strength -> GPS Light behavior: Blinks Pink*
• Low GPS signal strength -> GPS Light behavior: OFF* 
• Needs GPS initialization -> GPS Light behavior: Blinks Red 
• Loading A-GPS data -> GPS Light behavior: Stays On - Pink 

*NOTE: While your dog/collar is not moving, the GPS Light will not blink 

SAFETY NOTE: When GPS level is medium (blinking pink), the collar will NOT provide Prevention Feedback to your dog - even when outdoors. It will instead send a Return Whistle if it detects your dog crossing the Halo Fence.  If this occurs in key areas of your yard, these levels can be adjusted via this process.

Battery/Charge Light

The Battery/Charge Light, located above the Power button, provides a low battery warning (yellow or red blinks) when the collar is unplugged, and provides a charging indicator when the collar is plugged in for charging (green blink while charging; solid 'on' once fully charged). Additional Battery/Charge Light behavior: 

• During the collar boot-up, Battery/Charge Light is solid green (usually 2-3 seconds). 
• During the collar power-down, Battery/Charge Light is solid red (up to 15 seconds). 
• During a Collar Update ("firmware upgrade"), while Applying new Firmware, the Battery/Charge Light will blink Red sporadically. SAFETY NOTE:  Do not unplug your collar from the charger when the Battery Light is blinking red.  Wait for at least 10 seconds with the light blinking Green before unplugging it

CHECKING THE STATUS AT ANY TIME:  To see the Halo Logo color or GPS or battery status at any time, simply press on the collar's ON button for 1-2 seconds.  The LED's will all blink in the appropriate colors described above.

 

Collar(s) with firmware version between 01.03.50 and 01.03.86 (see below for earlier firmware versions):

Logo Light

GPS Light

Logo Light

The Halo Logo Light will blink in your dog's selected color while your dog is moving. Different modes will be indicated by different blink rates. When the collar transitions from one GPS state to another (High, Medium, or Low GPS signal), it will briefly blink in a certain color to indicate the current state:

Mode	Logo Light Blink*
Fences On	2 times, every 4 sec (Pet Color)
Fences Off	1 time, every 4 sec (Pet Color)
Switching to High GPS Signal	Blinks Blue 4x for 4 sec
Switching to Low GPS Signal	Blinks White 4x for 4 sec
Switching to Medium GPS Signal	Blinks Pink 4x for 4 sec

* NOTE: While your dog/collar is not moving, the Halo Logo Light will not blink 

GPS/Bluetooth Light

The GPS/Bluetooth Light, which is the teardrop-shaped indicator located under the Power button, may indicate any of the following and will help you understand the GPS and Bluetooth status of the collar:

GPS state	Light (Not paired with Halo App)	Light (Paired with Halo App)
Low GPS Signal	Off	Blue light on solid
High GPS Signal	Blinks Blue once per second	Blue light mostly on - but it will "pulse" off every second
Medium GPS Signal	Blinks Pink once every two seconds	Mostly Blue but blinks Pink
Collar is downloading position data	Solid Pink for about a minute
GPS Initialization Required	Blinks Red for three seconds then off for three seconds. Please take your collar outside, with an unobstructed view of the sky, until the GPS Light starts to blink Blue (High GPS Signal)

 

SAFETY NOTE: When GPS Signal Strength is Medium (blinking pink), the collar will NOT provide Prevention Feedback to your dog - even when outdoors. It will instead send a Return Whistle if it detects your dog crossing the Halo Fence. Be sure to check GPS Light status before letting your dog roam outside to make sure he or she is properly contained by their Halo Fence.

 

Battery/Charge Light

The Battery/Charge Light, located above the Power button, provides a charge warning (yellow or red blinks) when the collar is unplugged, and provides a charging indicator when the collar plugged in for charging (green blink while charging; solid on once charged). During a Firmware upgrade, while Applying the new Firmware, the Battery/Charge Light blinks Red.  SAFETY NOTE:  Do not unplug your collar from the charger when the Battery Light is blinking red.
