When introducing the collar to your dog, it's important that we place the Halo Collar onto your dog in a comfortable and effective way

Important reminder for your dog's comfort: Please make sure to remove the Halo Collar for at least 8 hours of every 24-hour period, or reposition the Halo Collar every 6-8 hours. This helps improve your dog's comfort, and avoid skin irritation from prolonged contact. The design of the Halo Collar is not intended for human use, or on any animal other than dogs. The Halo Collar was designed for optimal comfort and care on a dog's neck, and is not designed for use in any other context. 

In order to provide proper feedback to your dog, the strap and Halo Collar must fit your dog properly. If the collar is too loose or positioned incorrectly, feedback may be inconsistent. This can delay or prevent successful training.

Step 1: Preparation

Before you put on the Halo Collar, ensure that your dog is in a calm state. If your dog is displaying hyperactive behavior, it's best to take them for a walk or wait until they have settled down before proceeding. This will help create a positive experience for your dog and ensure that the collar is put on safely and comfortably.

Step 2: Initial Fitting

When fitting the collar on your dog, position it around the middle of your dog's neck and rotate it so that the power button is aligned with your dog's ear. It's important to ensure that the Contact Tips are not placed over the middle of the throat to avoid any pressure on the trachea. Adjust the strap by tightening it to ensure that the collar fits comfortably and snugly while still allowing room for just two fingers. It's crucial to monitor your dog's behavior to ensure that the collar isn’t too tight or too loose, as this can affect its effectiveness.

Step 3: Tailoring Your Collar

After ensuring that the collar is fitted correctly on your dog, gently remove the collar and commend your dog for their cooperation. For detailed step-by-step instructions on how to adjust the collar using the provided Perfect Fit Kit, please refer to the instructional video provided below.

If the excess strap measures more than 2-3 inches, carefully trim off the surplus using scissors, ensuring that 2-3 inches of excess strap are left for future adjustments. To affix the new end cap, utilize the clamp from your kit. It's important to keep the additional end cap and clamp for potential future adjustments.
